2. What is HabTiny?
HabTiny is a habit-tracking app for iOS. The app allows you to create, track, and manage habits.
3. Local use without an account
You can generally use HabTiny without an account. In this case, your habits, completion history, and settings are stored locally on your device. If you are not signed in and have not enabled cloud backup, your habit data is not synchronized to the cloud.
If you enable local reminders and notifications, they are triggered by iOS on your device. The settings required for this are used to provide the app feature.
4. Optional cloud backup and Firebase
HabTiny works locally without an account. You can optionally sign in with Apple or Google. Firebase is used for authentication and, if you enable it, for cloud backup and restoration.
In version 1, cloud backup is an optional Premium feature. Signing in does not start a cloud backup. Your HabTiny data is backed up or restored only after you enable cloud backup in the app. Cloud backups may include habits, habit settings, completion history, app settings, and related habit data.
Cloud backup data is not used for advertising, tracking, profiling, marketing, or sale to third parties. Disabling cloud backup stops future synchronization. It does not automatically delete existing cloud data unless you delete your account or the associated data.
When you delete an account, the associated cloud backup data is deleted where technically possible.
5. Sign in with Apple or Google
You can optionally sign in with Apple or Google. Depending on the provider and your settings with that provider, HabTiny may receive a user identifier, email address, and display name.
Sign-in is used for account and cloud backup features.
6. Apple Health and HealthKit
Apple Health integration is optional. You can use HabTiny manually without granting Health access. HealthKit access is requested only if you select Apple Health sync or link a habit to Apple Health.
Depending on the selected feature and permission, HabTiny may read active energy, exercise time, walking and running distance, steps, water, caffeine, heart rate, and sleep data from Apple Health.
If you select a corresponding sync mode, HabTiny can write app-generated updates for active energy, walking and running distance, steps, water, caffeine, and sleep to Apple Health.
Health and fitness data is used exclusively for habit tracking and synchronization. It is not used for advertising, tracking, profiling, marketing, or sale to third parties, and is not shared with advertising networks.
7. Profile photo, camera, and photo library
Access to the camera and photo library is optional. HabTiny uses this access only if you want to take a profile photo or select one from your photo library.
In version 1, photos and videos are not used for support requests or file uploads. A disabled contact-upload feature does not collect attachments in version 1.
8. In-app purchase and Apple StoreKit
Version 1 of HabTiny offers a one-time Lifetime Premium in-app purchase. Where a product identifier is stated, it refers exclusively to habit_pro_lifetime.
Payment data is processed by Apple and is not collected directly by Kevin Sydow IT- und Softwareentwicklung. HabTiny uses the purchase or entitlement status only to unlock Premium features.
Purchases are restored through Apple or StoreKit. Version 1 does not offer monthly or annual subscriptions.
9. Advertising
The current version 1 of HabTiny does not display advertising. It uses neither Google AdMob nor Google UMP. HabTiny does not perform advertising-related tracking.
If advertising is introduced in a future version, this Privacy Notice will be updated before or at the same time as that change.
10. External motivational images
If HabTiny loads motivational images from external image sources, the relevant provider may process technically necessary access data when the image is requested. This may include an IP address, technical request information, and the time of access.
HabTiny does not use these motivational images for advertising or tracking.
11. Support and contact
Version 1 of the app does not include a backend contact form or support file uploads. You can still contact support through the website, by email, or through the App Store support URL if one is provided.
If you voluntarily contact us by email or through an external support channel, your email address, message, and any information you provide voluntarily may be processed to respond to your inquiry.
12. Account deletion
If you have created an account, you can delete your HabTiny account in the app settings. Account deletion removes the associated account and cloud backup data where technically possible.
StoreKit purchases remain managed by Apple. Purchases are restored through Apple or StoreKit.
13. Categories of data
Depending on how you use the app, the following data in particular may be processed:
- habit names and habit settings,
- completion history,
- app settings,
- account or user identifier,
- email address and display name, if shared by Apple or Google,
- purchase and entitlement status,
- cloud backup content, if cloud backup is enabled,
- Apple Health and fitness data, if HealthKit sync is enabled,
- profile photo, if you set one,
- technical request data from external image providers, if motivational images are loaded, and
- support email content, if you voluntarily contact support outside the app.
14. Legal bases under the GDPR
Where the GDPR applies, processing is carried out in particular on the following legal bases:
- Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for app, account, cloud backup, and purchase features,
- Article 6(1)(a) GDPR where you enable optional features such as HealthKit access or a profile photo,
- where health data is concerned, additionally Article 9(2)(a) GDPR where required,
- Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for security, support, technical provision, and operations, and
- Article 6(1)(c) GDPR for legal obligations where applicable.
15. Recipients and third-party providers
Depending on the feature used, personal data may be transferred to technical service providers or platform providers. These may include in particular:
- Apple Distribution International and Apple Inc. for the App Store, StoreKit, Sign in with Apple, Apple Health, and HealthKit,
- Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC for Google Sign-In, Firebase, or Google Cloud,
- Firebase or Google Cloud as technical service providers where used for authentication or optional cloud backup, and
- external image providers if motivational images are loaded from external sources.
16. International data transfers
Some providers may also process personal data outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. Where required, the providers use appropriate safeguards, adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or other legally recognized safeguards.
17. Retention period
Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, remove the app, or use an in-app deletion feature. Cloud data remains stored for as long as the cloud backup or account exists, or for as long as storage is required for the relevant feature.
When you delete an account, the associated cloud backup data is deleted where technically possible. HealthKit permissions and Health data are controlled through Apple Health or iOS settings and the app’s selected sync behavior. Support emails are processed only if you contact us voluntarily and are retained only for as long as necessary to handle the request, for legitimate evidentiary purposes, or to comply with legal obligations.
18. Rights of data subjects
Subject to the applicable legal requirements, data subjects have the following rights in particular:
- the right of access,
- the right to rectification,
- the right to erasure,
- the right to restriction of processing,
- the right to data portability,
- the right to object to certain processing,
- the right to withdraw consent, and
- the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
19. Children
HabTiny is not specifically directed at children below the applicable minimum age. If children’s personal data has been processed without the required consent, that data will be deleted where required by law.
Important information and liability
HabTiny is an app for personal organization and habit tracking. The app does not provide medical, psychological, therapeutic, legal, tax, financial, or other professional advice and is not a substitute for advice from qualified professionals.
You use HabTiny at your own responsibility. We do not guarantee that using the app will achieve any particular personal, health, professional, productivity-related, or other goals.
We make every effort to provide the app reliably and securely. However, technical errors, interruptions, data loss, or limitations cannot be ruled out entirely. Cloud backup features are intended to make restoring and synchronizing HabTiny data more convenient, but they are not a substitute for maintaining your own backup of important data.
Liability is governed by the applicable statutory provisions. Liability for damage arising from injury to life, limb, or health, and for intentional or grossly negligent conduct, remains unaffected.
20. Changes
This Privacy Notice may be updated if app features, service providers, technical processes, or legal requirements change.
